GDPR & Ad Consent Policy

This page explains your data protection rights under the EU/UK GDPR, the legal basis we rely on to process data, and exactly how Google AdSense ad consent works on Temp To Mail.

Last Updated: August 21, 2026 EEA · UK · Switzerland

What Is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union law that gives individuals in the EU/EEA control over their personal data, and the UK GDPR extends the same protections to UK residents post-Brexit. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, this page describes specifically how Temp To Mail meets its obligations to you.

Privacy by Design

Temp To Mail was built with a zero-log architecture: no accounts, no persistent identifiers, and automatic deletion of inbox data. This minimizes what GDPR calls the "personal data" we process in the first place.

Data Controller

For the purposes of GDPR, Temp To Mail, operating at temptomail.com, acts as the data controller for the limited data described in our Privacy Policy (contact form submissions and aggregate analytics). For advertising cookies set directly by Google AdSense, Google LLC acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

You can reach our privacy contact at info@temptomail.com.

Google AdSense — EU User Consent

Google requires publishers to obtain consent from users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland before using cookies or other local storage for personalized advertising, under its EU User Consent Policy. Here is what that means in practice on Temp To Mail:

  • Before you respond to the cookie banner, ads shown are either non-personalized or limited, consistent with Google's requirements.
  • If you click Accept All, Google AdSense is permitted to use cookies to personalize the ads you see, based on your browsing.
  • If you click Reject All, you will still see ads (this keeps the service free), but they will not be personalized to your interests.
  • You can independently manage ad personalization at the Google account level via Google's Ads Settings or the NAI opt-out page, regardless of what you choose on our banner.

For the full list of cookies AdSense may set and what Google collects, see the Google AdSense section of our Privacy Policy.

Your GDPR Rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights over any personal data we hold about you:

Right to Access

Ask what personal data we hold about you, if any.

Right to Rectification

Ask us to correct inaccurate data, e.g. a contact form submission.

Right to Erasure

Ask us to delete your data — most temp-mail data is already auto-deleted.

Right to Restrict Processing

Ask us to limit how we use your data in specific cases.

Right to Portability

Request a copy of data you gave us in a portable format.

Right to Object

Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including analytics.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Withdraw cookie/ad consent at any time via the Cookie Policy page.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

File a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Because Temp To Mail does not require accounts and does not retain identifiable data beyond your active session, most of these rights are satisfied automatically by our architecture — there is usually nothing stored to access, correct, or delete after your session ends.

International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers — including Google (Analytics, AdSense) and Cloudflare (CDN/security) — may process data outside the EEA/UK, including in the United States. Where this occurs, these providers rely on mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to lawfully transfer data internationally. We do not independently transfer any personal data outside these established provider frameworks.

Data Retention

  • Temporary inbox contents — deleted immediately when you click delete, or automatically when your session duration expires.
  • Consent choice (cookie banner) — kept in your browser's local storage until you clear it or reset it from the Cookie Policy page; not stored on our servers.
  • Contact form messages — retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.
  • Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics in aggregated, IP-anonymized form per Google's standard retention settings.

How to Complain to a Supervisory Authority

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your EU/EEA member state, or with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are in the UK. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern directly first — please contact us at info@temptomail.com.

Exercise Your Rights

We aim to respond to all GDPR requests within one month, as required by Article 12(3) of the GDPR. This page is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice; if you need a formal legal compliance review, please consult a qualified privacy lawyer in your jurisdiction.
